The Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs (24/6 / 2013-25 / 1/2015) was formed on 24 June 2013 by the services of the former Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports in the first reshuffle of the Samaras Government .
The Department of Digital Systems offers a four-year Undergraduate Programme in “Digital Systems” (240 ECTSs), two Postgraduate Programmes in “Technology Education and Digital Systems” (90 ECTSs) and in “Techno-economic Management and Digital Systems Security” (90 ECTSs) and Ph.D. studies.
Founded in July 1961 as a Research Centre for Nuclear Research, Demokritos is today the largest multidisciplinary Research Centre of Greece with approximately 180 Researchers in tenured and tenure-track positions and over 500 Research Personnel working in projects funded mainly by grants from State Funds, the European Union and Private Industries.
COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is one of the longest-running European instruments supporting cooperation among scientists and researchers across Europe.

COST has a very specific mission and goal. It contributes to reducing the fragmentation in European research investments and opening the European Research Area to cooperation worldwide. It anticipates and complements the activities of the EU Framework Programmes, constituting a “bridge” towards the scientific communities of emerging countries. It also increases the mobility of researchers across Europe and fosters the establishment of scientific excellence

COST provides the COST Actions with financial support for joint activities such as conferences, short-term scientific exchanges and publications. Each COST Action has an objective, defined goals and clear deliverables. COST Actions have located their topic into one of COST’s scientific Domains
