Emmanouel T. Michailidis was born in Athens, Greece. He received the B.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering in 2004 from the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences (TEI of Piraeus), Aigaleo, Greece, the M.Sc. degree in Digital Communications and Networks in 2006 from the University of Piraeus, Piraeus, Greece, and the Ph.D. degree in Broadband Wireless Communications in 2011 from the University of Piraeus. Since 2012, he has been a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Telecommunication Systems Laboratory (TSL), Department of Digital Systems, School of Information and Communication Technologies, University of Piraeus. Since 2007, he has been a Lab Instructor with the Department of Electronics Engineering, Piraeus University of Applied Sciences. He has published more than 30 papers in international journals and international conference proceedings. He serves on the editorial board of the International Journal on Advances in Telecommunications. Dr. Michailidis received the Best Paper Award at the “International Conference on Advances in Satellite and Space Communications (SPACOMM) 2010” and was awarded by the Hellenic Ministry of Education, Research & Religious Affairs for contributing to the Academic and Scientific Excellence. His current research interests include channel characterization, modeling, and simulation for future wireless and satellite communication systems and new transmission schemes for cooperative and MIMO systems.
