Dr. Konstantinos Maliatsos received his Diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece (NTUA) in 2003. In September 2002 he joined the Mobile Radio-Communications Laboratory of NTUA working as a research assistant in various industry and research oriented projects. Since 2005 he is a PhD student working on Software Defined Radio – Cognitive Radio and Adaptive Wireless Transceivers. His research interests include Software Radio, Cognitive Radio and Dynamic Spectrum Access, Multicarrier Modulations, Filter Bank theory, Synchronization for broadband wireless, Channel Modeling and Detection theory. He has worked in European Projects (ACE, SatNex) and he is actively participating in the COST 2100 action “Pervasive Mobile & Ambient Wireless Communications”.

Dr. Petros S. Bithas received the Diploma (5 years) in electrical and computer engineering and PhD degree, with specialization in “Wireless Communication Systems”, from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2003 and 2009, respectively. During 2009-2018 he was affiliated with the Department of Electronics Engineering of the Technological Educational Institute of Piraeus, Greece. Since 2010, he is collaborating with the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus (UNIPI), Greece, where he participates in a number of National and International R&D projects. He is currently an associate Professor at the Department of Digital Industry Technologies of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.
Dr Bithas serves on the Editorial Board of the IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Communication Letters, International Journal of Electronics and Communications (ELSEVIER), Telecom, Drone (MDPI) and Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing (Hindawi). He has been selected as an “Exemplary Reviewer” of IEEE COMMUNICATIONS LETTERS (2010), IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON COMMUNICATIONS (2019-2022), IEEE WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS LETTERS (2022), while he is also selected as “Exemplary Editor” of IEEE COMMUNICATIONS LETTERS (2024). Moreover, he is co-recipient of Best Paper Awards at the IEEE International Symposium on Signal Processing and Information Technology, 2013. He has published more than 70 articles in International scientific journals and 40 articles in the proceedings of international conferences. Dr. Leonidas Marantis (male) received the BEng degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from the Queen Mary (University of London) in 2004 and the MSc. degree in Communications and Signal Processing from the Imperial College (University of London) in 2005. In October of 2005, he joined the Microwave and Radar Group of University College London (UCL) and he started his research activity on conformal antenna arrays. From 2005 to 2011, he worked as a laboratory technician of the spherical near-field antenna measurement facility of UCL. During 2006 – 2011, he also worked as an antenna engineering consultant in various projects, where he was involved in microstrip antenna design, fabrication and measurements. In 2014, he received the Ph.D. degree from UCL with specialization on “Spherical Antenna Arrays for LEO Satellite Communications”. In 2015, he spent six months serving as a research assistant in the Signals Officers Telecommunications and Electronics School of the Hellenic Army. Since September of 2015, he is a post-doctoral research assistant in the Telecommunications Systems Laboratory of the University of Piraeus, focusing his research on parasitic antenna arrays and wireless MIMO systems. Dr. Georgios Stratakos has a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1992 and his PhD in the same department in 1995. He has specialized in the field of RF & Microwave electronic system design in a variety of applications including the design of antennas in multilayer dielectrics and in metal waveguide technologies.
He participates in a number of Greek and European programs and has also supported the diploma and doctoral theses of a number of students at NTUA and UNIWA. He has three patents in his fields of interest, and over 80 publications in international journals and conferences.

Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, the M.Sc. degree in Communication Engineering from the University of Manchester (UMIST), UK, as well as the M.Sc. and the Ph.D. degrees from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece. He is member of the Telecommunications Systems Laboratory of the Department of Digital Systems, University of Piraeus. Viktor Nikolaidis received his Bachelor Degree in Digital Systems from the University of Piraeus in 2005 and gained the “Ericsson Awards of Excellence in Telecommunications” award for his thesis. Later on, he pursued a Masters in Mobile and Satellite Communications from the University of Surrey which completed successfully in 2007. He has worked for the European Space Agency (ESA) in the Hands-On Projects Section of the Education Office. He was assigned to the Global Educational Network for Satellite Operations (GENSO) project, as a Ground Stations and Operations Coordinator. Prior to that, he completed his internship as an Assistant Value Added Services Engineer in a Greek Mobile Service Provider, Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM). He has attended the ISU 2009 Space Studies Program which took place in the NASA Ames Research Center (California, USA). Currently, Viktor is pursuing a PhD in “MIMO Techniques and Channels for Wireless Satellite Telecommunication Systems” at the University of Piraeus and is a member of the Telecommunication Systems Lab (TSL). In 2023 he received his M.Sc degree in Environment and Development from the department of School of Rural and Surveying Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. Christian Drizari received his B.Sc. degree in Digital Systems in September 2023 from the University of Piraeus, School of Information and Communication Technologies, Greece, and his M.Sc. degree in Digital Systems Security in January 2025 from the same institution. He has been an active member of the Telecommunication Systems Laboratory since October 2023, where he participates in various research projects.
His research interests include antenna theory and design, applied electromagnetics, RF and system integration, advanced beamforming techniques, physical layer security, and deep learning techniques in wireless communication systems. For his B.Sc. thesis, titled “Parasitic Antenna Design for Millimeter-Wave Frequency Applications”, he developed an ESPAR antenna using DRAs. During his M.Sc. studies, he investigated physical layer security, culminating in a thesis entitled “Secrecy Evaluation in Physical Layer Secure Systems from Ultra-Wide Band Channel Measurements”, where he performed UWB channel measurements and evaluated physical layer security by calculating secrecy metrics.
